Maria Maggenti

Maria Maggenti is New York/Los Angeles based filmmaker, screenwriter and television producer. She wrote and directed the indie hit “The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love” and “Puccini for Beginners” both of which premiered at Sundance. She wrote “The Love Letter” for Dreamworks, “One Red Paperclip” for MGM, “My Name is Memory” for Fox 2000 and co-wrote “Monte Carlo” for Fox 2000.  She has worked as a writer/producer on three network television shows, “Without a Trace,” for CBS, “90210: The Reboot,” for the CW and, as supervising producer, on MTV’s “Finding Carter.” She is currently writing RE Jane, a half hour dramedy for TV Land, based on Patricia Park’s bestselling novel.

Her 2011 Black List screenplay “Before I Fall” (adapted from Lauren Oliver’s novel of the same name) and directed by Ry Russo Young opens in March of 2017.

Maggenti received her MFA in filmmaking from the NYU Graduate Film Institute and her undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Smith College. She is represented by the Paradigm Agency.
