Scott Kurz

Scott Kurz is a filmmaker, actor, director and writer; well-known to the Omaha area having helped found and run the Brigit Saint Brigit Theatre Company. Having worn multiple hats in over 100 productions--ranging from Ancient Greece and Shakespeare to contemporary and original works-- Mr. Kurz has become a multi-faceted producer and artist, an accomplished fight choreographer and combatant, as well as an award-winning set and light designer.Having shifted his focus from theatre to Film/TV several years ago, Scott has acted all over the country--yet he continues to produce film in Omaha and call this city his home. This past October, he co-starred as firefighter McFarland on NBC’s “Chicago Fire” and before that, co-directed, wrote and starred in “Muddy Water” a film created for the International 48 Hour Film Project in Los Angeles, which garnered “Best Acting,” “Best Directing,” and “Best Film” awards. He has appeared in more than two dozen commercials, on PBS in the docu-drama “The Legacy of Boilermakers,” and as Henry M. Stanley in the critically celebrated film “The Battle of Shiloh: The Devil’s Own Two Days.” Mr. Kurz is a founding member of Hunger Artist Films, where he has worked collaboratively as writer, director, and actor in the award-winning shorts: “The Fixer,” “In Silence and Tears,” and “No Outlet.” He is currently in post-production editing a short film he authored, produced, directed, and acted in entitled "Lucky Stiff" and is in pre-production on his first self-produced feature film that will shoot this summer.
